Work with a Physical Therapist
We will evaluate your fall risk and medical history, then create a balance training exercise program to optimize balance and prevent future falls. Examples of exercises might include single-leg stands, dance steps, walking in a figure “8”, obstacle courses, strength training, aerobic training, education, and even fear management.
Vestibular Therapy
The most frequent cause of dizziness or disorientation is an inner ear (vestibular) dysfunction in conjunction with disruption of vision or poor sense of balance. Physical therapy that focuses on the inner ear can help.
TAI CHI Classes
Tai Chi is excellent at helping with balance and falls prevention. It also helps reduce pain, improve circulation, heart and lung function among many other benefits. Sign up for a Tai Chi class at Back to Motion.
